Yes - it's needed to open up the capless fuel filler neck.

Hi .. my 1st question on this site!
I have a V40 D2, with deep spare wheel boot floor.
When I bought the car, I took the tempra wheel from my C30. It fits under the single piece boot floor ok .. however, will the offset be a problem if I have to use it? Will it foul the bodywork or brake callipers? Also could someone supply a picture of the scissor jack I need please? I realise it has a slot across the top to locate the cill / floor joint but have seen jacks with both a slot in the middle and one about 1/3 across. I realise buying the correct wheel setup would be easier but my wife would kill me, spending more money!
Many thanks in advance ...

I know you say you don't want to buy, but if you do finally decide to, have a look here:-

I think it's not the offset more the radius of your c30 spare that will cause problems. If fitted apparently it will cause all sorts of problems as the car will think it has a flat/problem with one wheel going around at a different rate from the others.

The v40 space saver is a pretty unusual size - so despite Ford ones fitting on the hub there are none the right size.

Keep searching eBay - and they pop up every few days (set up an eBay alert) - I got a as new spare with jack insert and giubbins for 90euros.. posted from Germany.

done!

OK, the correct spare wheel has now been ordered from Volvo partshop as none available on Ebay .. probably be loads of them now! So if anyone is interested in a brand new, never used C30 spacesaver .. unlikely on a V40 Forum .. I have one.
Thanks again for all the advice.
