Changing Mood Light - Interior Lighting

Hey guys, probably 99% of the people here already know about this but I found something really cool. You can change the color and intensity of the internal lights You can switch it to like 12 different colors (I will take a picture and the menus you have to go to change it.

Its in the car manual check it out, I think its really cool

When I get a new car, I let my youngest son (14, so not that young) loose on the dashboard and buttons. Changing the interior light was one of the first things he discovered... Close to invisible difference, it being a single led in my case...

I played about with the colour a while back on an empty unlit motorway rather late at night having a dropped off somebody at the airport. It is subtle but I found you could tell the difference with a faint glow on the aluminium on the centre console. I left in on purple as this seemed to be the brightest.

I do like how the interior is lit at night, with these and other lights in the front foot well and doors.

Not really anything to be seen during the day but it does add a nice touch at night. Change mine to a different colour every month or so. Currently set to purple.

I don't have the door pocket lights, but do see where they fit?
Can I just buy and plug them in, or are we talking software upgrade here?

I think its as usual not do-able no wiring loom etc , all this cant do on simple stuff is just madness to me, being an oldie who worked on cars in the 60s I have always repaired or added extras to my cars myself and only burnt one mini out. lol please don't ask. mind now I have to leave it all to the dealer workshop. and to be honest their welcome.

You are both partially correct. The additional lighting in the doors (door bin lights and puddle lights) uses different versions of the door harnesses and Door Modules with different software on them that is not available to download after the car is built.

Yes. On my car it is just for two LEDS, one each on the forward and rear interior ceiling lighting clusters. You can select one of 7 different colours via the My Car menus. It's a bit disappointing and pointless to be honest.
