Start/Stop Switch Reversal Module

Selling the V40 so have the following for sale:

CANM8 CANNECT START-STOP DISABLE MODULE

The CANM8 CANNECT START-STOP DISABLE is designed to automatically disable the 'Start/Stop' function on vehicles where this features is not desired.
Each time the vehicle engine is started, the ED-OFF unit automatically disengages the Start-Stop control so that manually overriding the function is not neccessary. The Start - Stop function can be re-instated by the driver at any time during the journey as desired but will automatically cancel again the next time the vehicle is started.

This module is fitted with an OBD2 plug so just plugs in to the diagnostics port under the dash and works. It can be removed at any time without any issue. This makes driving the automatic a pleasure!!

Cost £80 - I am looking for £50 posted in the UK.

Hi

Item received and I can't get it to work on my Vehicle...

I have plugged it in, but it is doing nothing and having no impression on the start stop system.
The start stop system is on at start, and remains on, nothing has changed with the unit plugged in.

I have no doubt it worked on your V40, this post is just to maybe get some help off the people on here.


I am taking a wild guess that my MY15 car may be slightly different and the CanM8 unit just requires a firmware update (Currently on V0.1).

The support on the site looks good saying the units can be remotely updated and diagnosed over the internet and with connectivity via USB, so hopefully they can help me out.

Anyone else with ideas, please let me know?

The CanM8 Start-Stop Disable module was developed while Volvo were still using Ford's systems. The CAN protocol, engines and and Engine Control Modules were common to Ford and Volvo, and the Start/Stop function is implemented in the ECM software and hardware.

Chiptivo, your car is a new D2 with the 2.0 VEA engine isn't it? It's entirely possible that with the introduction of their own VEA engine range the ECM and it's software is now bespoke to Volvo, and the CAN messages used to control it may therefore have changed. If it's not working, I'd get in touch with CanM8 and ask if they can confirm their module's software works with the current Volvo VEA-engined Volvo models.

No, it is one of the last 1.6 D2 units before they switched to the VEA unit.
It lights up, has a flashing red led heatbeat, but nothing.
I have checked the plug and connections out, and I will check the socket in the car out later to see if any pins have been pushed back (If that is at all possible).

To be fair, CanM8, have been very useful and although I have to wait until the 8th November for some proper tech support, it looks very positive that they will sort it out for me.
