Hi,
Has anyone ever changed the coolant in the 5 cylinder D3/D4 engine?
The colour of my coolant is orange and I want to replace it with original Volvo green coolant.
Is it just a case of drain via the radiator drain plug, flush and refill slowly via the expansion tank?
I am concerned as I have read somewhere that it has to be vacuum filled with coolant?
Thanks

I have done it twice without the vacuum, and had no problems.
After filling, let the car iddle without the cap till normal operating temp for the thermostat to open, this will puch out air in the system.
After a drive you will need to topup.

What Gotcha said, but I'll add that when bleeding the coolant in the "open way" (with the cap taken off from the expansion tank) make sure to put your heater on MAX temp and wind speed.
