Because I drive mainly in town, I did not go for the illumination pack. BLIS did not convince me on the XC60 I got for a weekend for testing. It activated all the time in the busy traffic, so I turned it off. If you drive a lot on motorways it surely is a great feature, but less useful for me on the busy streets of Warsaw, where I spend the vast majority of my time behind the wheel.
I do not like the flashy TFT as much as most people do and ordered normal dials, only a matter of personal preference here, it was a close call for me. It surely is a wanted feature upon resale, but I simply did not tick the box when I finally had to choose my configuration, so now I drive without it and it works well and looks fine.
For me rear parking sensors are enough, so I did not opt for the rear view camera. One place too many for me to look at while reversing. As the back window is quite small, which gives the V40 a sporty look and big boot, but also limits visibility, the rear sensors are a must in my opinion.
I saved some money by leaving front sensors out of my order. The size of the vehicle is quite limited, so parking without front sensors is fairly easy, I do not miss them. Driver assistance I did not even think about, I would simply not afford it, even if I would like to have it.
As I have sensitive eyes, I instead opted for the dimming frameless mirror, a real life saver for me and extremely convenient for night driving. Finally, I had no other choice than to include the family package, as I have a small baby.
That's it.
