First off apologies for no photos, I'll try to sort that tomorrow.

Today I bought a spare wheel kit for my V40 with the "shallow" boot wheel impression. I had priced the various pieces online and to get them all posted to me was costing over £300. I ordered the "kit" from my local dealer and asked if this definitely included the folding, raised floor. He assured me it did but I was a bit worried that this would turn out to be an "extra". Anyway, ended up I got everything for just over £260. That included wheel, jack, brace, foam tool insert, moulded "carpet" wheel cover, new flat floor and folding floor (with supports).

I was well impressed with the price and the boot looks very tidy now, albeit a bit smaller. Now I feel happier taking the car on longer journeys, as I wasn't particularly comfortable about using the glooby stuff. I believe some tyre companies don't like (refuse) repairing punctures when the stuff is used. I suspect they prefer to sell a new tyre instead. I think this has already happened on my car as one front tyres is a totally different tread pattern to the others.

Yeah, you know I am exactly the same way. When we were buying an Ioniq 5 that was the first thing I bought (and that former fell through and had to sell the spare on...). I was looking for a Volvo and went looking for a spare at the same time! The only thing I could find was in England, so got that 115/90/R16 spare kit. I think mine cost about 145£ + 45 euro Irish customs + 7 euro An Post (as they didn't ship to Ireland, so I had to ship to an An Post UK address Address Pal). I'm really looking forward to seeing how it fits in the tire well of the V40. I have more hope reading your post! I have the tire well and the double floor. I replaced 3 tires and fixed punctures on 2 more across two cars in 1 year because of the roads we live on, so living with a spare is just too nerve wracking.
