Hi guys, I ordered my V40 yesterday. Tentative delivery quoted was end-September. I have my doubts

D2 SE in Flamenco red, Active TFT, Winter illumination pack, rear park sensors (Other half spotted the poor view out the back) and a few other bits.
I had a (whisper it) 440 years ago. The worst car I ever had. So I'm hoping the V40 will nail that ghost.

Welcome! Good spec. Almost identical to mine. Flamenco Red was my second favourite colour.
As I recall Top Gear were right with you, the 440 was one of the worst cars of all time. I remember Clarkson consigning one of them to a car crusher. However they were very positive towards the V40.
As regards your delivery date I'll be amazed if you get it in September. I ordered mine over a week ago and was quoted late November!

Yeah, I thought September sounded too good to be true. Apparently there is a rumour going round that there is a problem with the panoramic roof that is slowing down orders that include it.
I've got to call in at the dealers to sign new paperwork (I'd forgotten to add the multimedia center). So I'll be pushing for a clearer delivery date.

I had endless problems with that 440. I've had a few other cars since then and now running a very nice, but very thirsty Lexus IS 220D. I'll be sad to see it go. But it's costing me an arm and a leg to run it.

Have heard that if you order a V40 now with panoramic sunroof delivery will be next year.

They did not figure that so many people wanted one.. So there is not enough on stock.
Heard from someone who works at the factory in Gent.

Good choice comming back to Volvo - tis one you'll not regret

I ordered back in July and delivery expected middle to end of sept. you never know, you dealer may have had a spare car available in their initial stock allocation.

Wondering wether to have a bet with the dealer tomorrow that they won't be able to deliver end of September.
I might have pushed it back anyway by adding the multimedia centre. I decided on that rather than the SatNav as I reckon my tomtom is better and it would only get used on occasion.

Or Ozzy Osborne...."At the end of the road, turn ****ing left". Had that on my old tomtom. Always had to remember to mute it when the mother-in-law was in the car
