I washed the car (2015 V40 D3 CC) last weekend and was finishing it off when I noticed splits in the rubber surround of the windscreen. It's not leaking, or anything like that, but I've never noticed this before in any car (or perhaps I don't wash my cars sufficiently often!). Anyone else noticed this? Has it caused problems?

P.S. A photo. It appears to be a split in an outer plastic cover, rather than the actual windscreen waterproofing itself. Still it looks rather unsightly.

It's just cosmetic trim. Screens are bonded to the body with an adhesive sealant and the surround just covers the gap that would otherwise look unsightly.

Thanks, that's what I concluded. Pity though, looks unsightly. Must see how much to replace it at the next service.

Do not hesitate to go to your garage if your Volvo is still under Volvo warranty.
