Hi there,

I am in the process of choosing the colour for my V40 Cross Country which I will aim to get early next year to replace my current Titanium Grey C30, but I am struggling to decide!

The Raw Copper looks great in the publicity pictures, but my dealer says it looks a bit lighter and weaker in the flesh. I like white but I don't know how it'll look with the dark grey Cross Country cladding.

Does anyone have any opinions / thoughts or photographs?

Cheers,

Fraser

I only have this photo I've taken at the auto car show in Zurich, maybe you can find out more with a search on google...

I definitely agree with that. I was thinking about the raw copper color for the V40 CC but I've seen a few of them at the dealers and they look more light brown.... definitely not like in the publicity.

I have also been thinking about vivid copper, but I haven't seen any in real life. I have only seen pictures on the internet. I'm afraid it might turned out to be more like orange!

Hi

Firstly welcome to the forum!

My V40 is in Vibrant Copper and there are a few photos on the following thread: http://www.volvov40club.com/forums/Thread-A-Happy-Man-includes-photos-of-V40-in-Vibrant-Copper
I guess I'm biased but I think it looks great and it's very easy to find in a busy car park :)

Cheers

Do you all think the v40 cc works without the silver side skirts?
IMHO the silver coloured CC doesn't look right with them. 2 different silvery/chrome finishes just looks wrong.

No

I'm planning on getting myself a CC and wouldn't get it without the silver side skirts. I'm actually thinking about the V40 CC on vibrant copper.... but I wish there was a picture of one of those up here to see what it looks like in real life.

Also, does anyone know what's the difference between the 18" MEFITIS dark grey, and the MEFITIS light grey?... The web site has no picture for the light gray but does for the dark gray. Wondering how different the light gray wheels are.

Hm .. i think its an important part of the Cross Country.

I don´t know why its not default (series) on this Car.
do you guys know what are the materials of the side skirts? it doesnt come as a standard spec - so if im spending money on it, would love to know if its durable...
Check them out at the Volvocars accessories page.

Here you go, looks great in vibrant copper, too bad the weather was cloudy in these pics.
Probably looks awesome in the sun.

I'ts very personal how you want your car to look.
The side skirts can be added afterwards if you feel like it after you received you car from Volvo.

I chose the side skirts on my black stone V40 Cross Country (company car) that I ordered 2 weeks ago, and also the dark grey Mefitis 18".

The light grey Mefitis alloys seems to be a rare choice, but that doesn't mean it's a bad choice.

Hope this helps.

The tyres look as if they're unidirectional. What make, variant, and size are they?

Here they are in colour code 960 Light light grey. http://tinyurl.com/ck9yn5l
The extra "light" in the colour is Volvo's, not a typing error on my part! :D

Thanks for the photos Pete and Yellowbelly... its exactly what I was looking for. I did got lucky last Saturday and saw a V40 CC at the dealer in both vibrant copper and raw copper. I'm having a hard time deciding between them, but to be honest when I saw the vibrant copper I didn't like it as much.... although I must say in the pictures above it looks great. So I guess lighting conditions make a huge difference. The Mefitis rims in dark gray look good as well.

Raw Copper Cross Country

It's been more than a year since I started this thread; I did take the plunge in the end and got this Raw Copper Cross Country D2 Lux, with grey alloys and the Copper Dawn centre console + two-tone leather inside

I haven't regretted my choice for a moment but I think the grey wheels radically change the look and prevent it from looking too old-fashioned. The colour changes quite significantly depending on the light; in dull weather and in twilight it does look like the rich colour in the original promotional pictures.

With the Scottish weather being as it is, I should have plenty scope to post some shots of it in the grim weather.

As for the car as a whole, I am very happy with it. Economy and performance good, ride and handling better than my C30 and the whole package feels very planted and assured. I have however had one or two build quality issues... there's a rattle where the loose plastic at the driver's windowline rattles against the glass and the remote-controlled lighting only goes on momentarily at the first attempt. Both issues for the coming first service.

Raw copper, silver and white are the 3 colours I like, and then that big black 19inch wheels on them, with the full extra styling kit.
