Hi everyone,

I have to replace the left (wheel side) CV boot on my V40*.
I've already done this on a 480 with a buddy few years ago, so I'm quite motivated to try to replace it by myself.

If some of you have already done this, I'd like to know their feedback about the difficulty.

Thanks in advance.

I wish I could help, but it is always a task I hated doing in the past, so if they ever need replacing these days I take it to a local garage and let them do it.

I understand, because it's not fun to do at all.
But finding a honest car mechanic not overbooked is sometimes tricky...
I used to drop the car a the dealership while the Volvo Selekt warranty was still valid, but I wouldn't even try now, so I'm trying to DIY as much as possible

remember its a Focus underneath... a friend did our old C30 with air tools in the same time to have a cup of tea. I recall a central bolt on the shaft was tight, as was dropping the lower arm. no idea how the joint was separated, sorry. use an axle stand, wear gloves! theres a bit of persuasion needed, but not beyond the home diy mechanic on a driveway!
