new member - been reading with interest past few weeks so decided to join - have v40 passion red d2 es with tft on order since early august expected delivery was oct. just had call from dealership its in and ready to collect on wed. 19th really looking forward to collecting first ever volvo - budget would only stretch to entry model and feeling a little worried what it looks like with std 16" alloys and non chrome trim on exterior anybody seen the es spec as everyone seems to be going fo se....wont spoil the moment tho. and looking to put r design silver wing mirror covers on...

Welcome lumbob. Nothing wrong with 16" wheels. If anything, they should give you a smoother ride than 17 or 18 inch rims...IMHO

Don't worry about the es trim, the car will look great in passion red.

Also picking mine up on Wednesday too, was originally due the week after next so looks like deliveries have improved

You're not the only one, I've gone for ES trim too. I'm on a budget and personally couldn't justify the SE difference in price for a handful of extras. I put the money towards some things I really wanted like the driver display and full leather. That's one of the nicest things about the V40 options, it's set up to cater for individual taste.
Although I went for the 17" Mannan Alloys, having seen both 16" and 17" wheels in the 'flesh', I couldn't discern the difference in size, I'm not sure they are worth the £500 premium - that said there seems to me to be a marked difference between 17" and 18"...

Passion Red is a good choice too.

had all sorts over the years - last few cars have been 2004 freelander major headache - alfa 147 - nice, new mx5 - favourite car ever - currently have 2009 citroen c3 picasso - had 1st child so has been useful - v40 coming next few days safety aspect made decision and also nice to get a car which has just come onto the market..
