The dashboard air vents (those in the middle of the dashboard) suddenly refuse to open. No combination of window/dash/floor vent setting will make any air blow out of it. No clicks or motor noise can be heard.

I am hoping it is something trivial and not needing a specialist opening the AirCon and replacing the motor, or something..

Any experiences?

update: on careful inspection, I realized that air flow direction cannot be controlled at all. The flaps are not heard clicking and the airflow is the same whatever I press: it blows on the windscreen, side vents, and the floor, but not the central dash vent.

The flaps seem to be stuck.. still hoping that someone had a similar experience and fixed it without the repair shop digging deep into the dash and my pocket.

They have fixed mine at the dealer for free just by resetting the a/c module via vida. Bad thing is that after 2-3 weeks flaps stopped working and had them reset again. Dealer said if it happens again then they have to dig deeper

I am afraid that your V40 has the common issue with malfunction of a/c vents......
