Forgive me for whining on about the same subject
But, do the rest of you have a delivery date, estimated or not, for your car?
I'm now at the end of the first week since order placed and my dealer still can't (or won't) tell me anything....the silence is deafening.

I have got a delivery date, but it took a while for the dealer to get it from Volvo DK. I ordered in the end of June, and they could not give any delivery date until mid august. Ofcourse, they did not start building the cars before the end of July, but I though they had a rough idea of how many cars they could build pr day and then calculate it.
Anyway, the dealer told me I could pick it up this week, but I'll see it before believing it!

Ordering that early (way before production even started) I can understand the delay for giving you a date.

I received an update Friday the 21st September that my cars build week was 17th September and that the delivery date of the week commencing 15th October, 2012 was on schedule.

Got an estimated delivery between 1-15th November. My order was placed 10th sep.

I placed my order on 1st July and was told then that my V40 would be on a production cycle process which takes 3 months from order. I've since been told that it might be possibly later because of the spec I've ordered (sports chassis, digital tv). I was also told that because the Ghent factory isn't up to full production yet it would be 3 months. So if you ordered a week ago I reckon you'll take delivery between Christmas and new year if my experience is anything to go by.

Did you order any extra spec? I was told mine is showing 'built'' on the system but they have no idea when it's going to rock up at the dealers. It's getting a bit silly now.

I did. Electric seat, TFT display, premium sound, winter illumination pack, rear park assist.
It'll be special, but hopefully not too special that its tricky to build

I have all that (except park assist) plus digital tv and sports chassis. To be honest I wish I'd picked up a Golf GTI!

Golf is nice but with the V40 you will be driving a very rare car for a while. I really liked my Golf GT Tdi but I was always a bit disappointed with the build quality. Doesn't sound like that's improved with the mk7 every review I've read puts the V40 ahead of the Golf. Even Whatcar who've been critical of the V40 Recognise the fact that the interior of the new golf is way short of the quality of the V40.

Ordered towards end of August D2 SE LUX with Driver support pack, Winter pack, Full park assist pilot
and also TFT display.

Had update from dealer that they will recieve it on 19th November and i can collect it on 25/11/2012.

Cant wait!!!!

I've ordered the D2 with extras, but not the panoramic sunroof which some were speculating as the cause for delays.

Patience is a virtue they say!

I ordered 17th august and delivery to dealer is not
until the 19th november.

My V40 that I ordered at the end of July was delivered Thursday (04/10/2012) morning, two weeks earlier than expected and wow does it look fantastic. I will post some pictures as soon as I can. It certainly is worth waiting for. Rolleyes
