Okay. The drivers door lock on my 2014 V40 has just stopped working meaning I can't open from inside or out. The mechanism feels as though something has disconnected as it has a slightly easier/looser action.

Does anyone know how to get the door open without destroying the door card? It's in at a local garage but they have been unsuccessful thus far and are now talking about just busting the door card off. I did suggest taking the seat out but they seemed a bit uncertain/disinterested about that.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Graeme

Sorry I haven't a clue. For something like that I really would talk to a main dealer, it is probably something they have come across, and possibly have the tools to repair without destroying your interior.

A main dealer might be less expensive than repairing the damage a non specialist might cause.

The door panel is secured by 2 Torx screws under the handle and the plastic corner which just pings off the panel lifts directly up not on the usual plastic poppers
Best of luck with it.

I’ve had this twice since owning my 2014 V40.
I found that the first time it happened, it was locked for around a week then then more recently just an hour.

I have disconnected the battery before and that has fixed it. It’s almost like the auto door lock gets confused and stays locked.
