Hi Guys,

I loaded in a recent CD into my brand new V40 T5 (picked up yesterday ) and noticed it retrieved the album information from the Gracenote database. BUT it was a NEW CD, only out a few months in Australia. I can't believe the stereo has a very big and up to date database.

So, where does the car get the CD information from ??? Magic ?

Most new cd's have info text on them.
So that's probably it

I will try an old CD. ie 20 years old. I am just curious!

Hi All - not too sure how Gracenote works but cannot find anything about it in the handbook.

Does the database reside in the car stereo? as it says "accessing database" as assume as its a MY14.5 it does not use the phones connection. Some discs work others do not???
Can anyone shine some light for me - thanks

I believe gracenote is an online music database, not sure how the car would connect though.
