We've just bought a 2016MY V40 having had our S80 written off by a truck. Trying to download fav CD's to the hard drive. Shows a hard drive but nothing happens when I press OK. We live in Australia. Do all V40's have HDD?
Think they have to be imported on a memory stick and loaded from the port under the armrest. We've just bought a 2016MY V40 having had our S80 written off by a truck. Do you know if this can be revised, and who could do it?Volvo Cars - Copying music to the car's hard disk
You have the option to copy music to the hard disk in your car from a disc or a USB memory.www.volvocars.com
The 2016 manual says it is possible to copy from disc to the HDD, but later versions of the manual drop the copy from disc paragraph.
Possibly one of the software updates over the years took the option away.
It would need the software to be re-written.... I don't think Volvo are going to do that for an obsolete system they no longer sell.Do you know if this can be revised, and who could do it?
Have read the manual and followed it, but HDD menu won’t allow disks to be downloaded to HDD. I’ve now downloaded all discs to USB, but no joy downloading that either. HDD menu says NO DISC.From the Sensus Infotainment Manual:
"Hard disk drive (HDD)
It is possible to copy music from disc/USB14 to the car's hard disk drive (HDD) and then play it back from there. For information about the supported formats, see compatible file formats (p. 49).
14 Depending on market.
File formats that can be copied to the hard disc drive
CD-/DVD discs: mp3, wma, aac. USB: mp3, mp4, wma, aac, m4a, m4b."
There's a lot more in it about folders etc. If you are actually trying to copy a commercial music cd it won't work.
