Only had our v40 for a week and the drivers heated seat isn't working. Not a massive issue but nice feature to have especially during a Scottish winter! The garage we bought it from is 200 miles away so not a 5 mins trip. Waa wondering if there was anything I could try

Check the plug under the seat is connected.
Use a multimeter to check there is power at the socket when the seats are turned on, check all 3 power settings.

You may check its fuse. Now, I own a LHD car so the fuse is under the right front seat. It may be under the left seat for you. Behind the seat, there is two small latches sticking out from the bottom. Pull them both up and fold the seat-back front, and then move the seat as far forward as it will go. The fuses will then be in a little box under the seat. Check the manual for what fuse is the right ones.
A flashlight is recomended :)
