Greetings from the Sunny Side of the Alps.

Last year, I was roadtriping Sweden with my wife and we both saw and fell in love with the new V40.

A couple of weeks ago, we were again roadtriping, this time Norway, using a Herz rented V40CC.

A week and 2.800km in the car made me determined to finally say farewell to my 7.5 year old Opel Astra OPC line.

Anyhow, I have set my eyes on a second-hand 2013 Black D3. Will post more info when I finish the order.

For a moment I thought you decided to switch from the Opel Astra to the MIG!

Osiris, that's a Sukhoi (Su-7 or Su-17?), not a MiG!

InFlames - good choice, though - I hope you'll get the car you want. Are you looking for a CC or a 'normal' V40?

Bendenden is right - that's a Su-7 in the pic, but yeah, a lot of people mistake it for a MiG-21, though it's a much bigger jet! Pic was taken, as I was doing some volunteering work at an aircraft museum in Czech republic.

I am looking into a 'normal' version. If all goes to plan, I'll have a car reserved on Monday. Wish me luck!

Oh and I don't need a Volvo for flying - combination of my MTB and gravity suffice these days, while my driving will include 250km+ daily drives, mostly on highways, so all I am seeking is a nice, durable, comfortable car with low consumption.

Well, I'm no specialist when it comes to russian or soviet planes, I just know the difference between a MiG and a Su. I know a little more about erstern aircraft, but that might be normal when scale modelling is your hobby! So osiris, no need to worry - luckily, this is a car forum and not an aircraft forum!

OMG you need to start building cars !

The authenticity/ weathering in your paint detailing in amazing, as an engineer though I'm sorry I hate the sight of rust (ha ha amazing touch)

Jifen, I actually also build cars, it even was my job to develop model cars for about five years... BTW, there's no rust on that RF-8, just graphite oil streaks and some paint chipping. Aircraft in service don't rust (at least they shouldn't!)!
