Hi Mark, I thought about the dimming mirror, maybe get one from a salvage dealer... but was heavily advised against it at the time as although the wire and connector is there it needs coding from factory. Theres not much in the way of factory options the V40 will take as a retro fit option. Maybe things have changed, it has been around 3 years...
Hi everyone....
Had my first V40 (late 2015 D4 SE Lux Nav) for a couple of weeks. Pretty happy so far but having fun fitting a boot 12V socket kit - can't get the large rear plastic panel to unclip. The instructions make it look easy but I can't get it to shift. I've tried using a trim tool kit but no joy, none of the clips will release. Other panels OK.... Any advice please?
Also would like to replace the standard mechanical interior mirror with an auto-dim one (not the compass version). Possible? It seems Volvo are a bit tight with upgrade potential for various things....

Hi, OK thanks. I was hoping if there was power then the mirror would be able to do the basic dimming function. I don't need the compass version. However I'll check with a dealer before I go any further....
