OK, I've solved it. It's not a Volvo feature :(

It's a feature in the Torque Pro app. I had it running on my phone when I started the car, and it played the warning message through the car speakers! I managed to re-create it this morning.
Do you use any specific pid's with torque when you use it? For example: dispalying dpf readings or regeneration procedure?

I don't use those specifically, as mine's a T2, but have a look here:

cool, the dealer mentioned that feature and i was thinking about how i could test that.
From experience it works if you do not press the brakes at all, and the sensor feels a collision imminent, and it even works when you press the brakes, but the car feels you are still not pressing the brakes hard enough, and it will put full brakes on for you to avoid hitting. I really should brake earlier shoudn't i?

My car used to have the blower /fan turn on whenever i unlocked the car via remote, the cabin would be more cooler as you get in, truly a great feature. However it stopped doing so a year ago, apparently it's part of the CZIP package and it's meant to only operate for four years. Is there any way I could re-enable this?

Here's one - the auto sensing wiper function on my 2013 v40 D2 - I though there was something wrong as it seemed to start working all the time and not waiting for drops to land - got annoying so turned it off. Booked in for the annual service and mentioned it - the guy smiled and gave me this tip _ _ the wiper delay adjustment ring not only adjusts the wiper delay in 'delay mode' but acts as a sensitivity adjustment for the auto wipers - nice one

Checking Traffic Information today (3 hours for the Dartford Tunnel). Found you can scroll through multiple events.
You select Traffic Information and then you are presented with a list of events. You scroll to the first one and press ENTER. But if you press ENTER again it brings up number 2, and so on.
Maybe other people don't see multiple traffic events like we do in the south?

Noticed today that the front passenger seat folds forward almost flat, with the help of two little levers at the back of it!
Why you didn't tell me two months ago when I was moving some packages from IKEA and had sore hand from turning that stiff wheel on the side of the seat?:D

This seems to have dried up. But I'm anxious to know (prior to delivery) whether an earlier post on options is true. Did Volvo remove twin horns and stop the cooled glovebox?

And did we get to the bottom of a 'cable recess' beside the centre console for running a USB cable.
Hi good day in this nice "lockdown" scenario. My MY14 V40 T5 2.5 5cyl 187Kw has all those features, Glove box cooling, USB cable all the way at the back inside BIN for USB to phone connection, Auto dimming inside and headlights, TWIN horns. Pitty doesn't have LED headlights as with newer models. On the 2 key FOBS both can be adjusted separately for custom settings ie. temperature settings inside car, seat positions, Radio station selection, mirror settings.....all on individual key FOB. Wife has own key with separate settings, i have my key..... If you lock vehicle with one key FOB and open with other FOB, it will auto adjust ALL settings of car with memory of individual FOB.

I hope I can contribute a little something. On those hot days, when the car is standing in the sun - When unlocking the car via the fob, hold the unlock button in for a few more seconds and all windows will go down. You can stop them by quickly pressing the unlock again. Same goes to close, hold in the lock for a few extra seconds and all will close. Interrupt it by pressing it again. If one window was open when getting out, only the open one will close.

Not really a feature, but sounds nice on the Diesels. When clearing codes via Vida, you need to ref to 2000 rpm and switch the car off, now when you do this at any time, you get a nice turbo shutter sound.
This is great tip, just went out to try it and it works! Let's hope for some summer now!

Just noticed this week when approaching max revs (red zone on rev counter)the numbers turn red cos in current lock down to put some charge in the batt I drive to my weekly trip into "DANGER ZONE"(supermarket)in a low gear in manual mode not sure if it does for all display modes as I have mine set on performance so large rev counter with digital speed.

I found that yesterday as well. I was testing the built in launch control, made a video of that and then when replaying it I noticed numbers 7 and 8 turning red when the engine is getting close to 6,500 rpm.

Thanks to mhron: maybe good to mention it here also: Launch control with geartronic:
Gearbox in S, left foot on the brake, right foot to the ground: rpms go to 2500...
Then lift your left foot and there you go.
