Sorry forgot, rear screen heating comes on automatically at 6 C and below on start up.
Only if you tell the car to.
Mine has a setting for this. It also turns the mirror heating on.

Watch out for changing gears with cruise controll on as it doesn't disengage untill you touch the brakes or switch it off. Pressing the clutch will not disengage cruise controll!
I'm sure mine does...
I had a Focus before that didn't and just took the cruise control off if touching the clutch. Tried it by accident the other week and the Volvo changed fine - no high revs and no stopping the cruise control.

Found out today, that the tyre pressure indicator is quite accurate. It tells you which wheel, and when I checked it...yes..it was lower by 2psi.
Mine doesn't do this :/ It just says tyre pressure low and that's it. No further info.

It really does surprise me how many of these features people are "discovering".
But then I read through the manual so am aware of a lot of them or my car doesn't have them.
And yes, I'm a man... a little sexist to suggest men don't read through manuals. Old men maybe, and lazy kids. But then I also appreciate I am a complete exception :p

You're not alone. I'm an older man, but I always read manuals for anything that I buy. I'm totally bemused by the concept that something can be considered hidden because the owner can't be bothered to investigate the operating instructions that come with a product, where the manufacturer has often documented the feature fully ;)

I found a neat feature, you guys know you the possibility of the showing speed on top right of the display(navigation screen)
If you have got this turned off in settings it will show mobile connection information. I have speed on most of time but sometimes want to know my connection of my phone.
Turning the speed off in the settings of the car takes way to long and there is no way to switch other then turning it on or off in settings.

But then i caught a bug, Assuming you have the show speed setting enabled if you go to the screen "Phone" and then scroll up once to get into the last contacted screen.
(The Contacts list doesnt work for this.) Once you reach the latest phone calls screen press exit on the menu to go one screen back, now the speed changes to the phone/gps information again.
Whatever you do from this point out in the matter of switching screens it will immidiatly switch back to speed again, so this is a perfect solution for me to sometimes just really quickly show me the gps/phone information on the display and it goes back to speed straight away when done.

Its not much its just a funny bug.
It also works on my fathers Volvo V60 CC MY17

Noticed today that the front passenger seat folds forward almost flat, with the help of two little levers at the back of it!
I know this is an old post, but a goody. I went and checked and the 2016 D4 with electric seats did indeed have the levers and folded flat! I feel so much better about it having such a small boot now. I can "plan" and "do nothing" on all of those DIY projects again!! Brilliant!

Ahh, a very useful feature. Sadly deleted later in 2016

So where are these levers? I have an "early" 2016 T5 and haven't noticed them. Any chance of a photo?

I'll try to remember to get pics in the morning. If you look at the rails the passenger seat runs on, from behind the passenger seat, you'll see an inch long grey plastic lever (and by lever, I mean an inch long by maybe half an inch wide) sticking out from the seat just slight raised from the where the rail is. One on section where the seat runs on the rails. I found them very obvious, they stick out and when you're looking for them, you'll notice them (and likely never without knowing what they are).

I had the folding seat feature on my original S40 98 and V40 04
Great for trips to that great Swedish furniture store, smug grin on my face as the S40 swallowed the pax wardrobe and folk round about scratching their heads. 8’ x 2’ sheets of flooring fitted easily

Well I never! I have little grey levers down there that I've never noticed before! (y)
Can't get at them easily as I have a child seat in the back; releasing then doesn't seem to let the seat back move, but maybe if I move it forward tomorrow it might be different.

Thanks all, I definitely have these, though with (currently) a child seat behind them there's no immediate need. :ROFLMAO:

Ok guys, let's have a little fun with this one whilst also helping fellow members get the full functionality of their prized V40s.

Today by accident I found that the centre console armrest can be adjusted forward for extra comfort, a small but totally random find which will become very useful on long journeys.

The question is has anyone else found any little gems, functions, or details whilst using their V40 that they didn't realise even existed until stumbling upon them by accident? knowledge is power after all! :)
Haha appreciates your attitude towards life.

I have this too on my 2013 D3 with manual seat adjustments, I also have the front seats pockets, which I hadn’t noticed either. Just checked it out after reading your posts, thanks for sharing guys 😎
