Hi, on my Japanese import (2016 D4 Polestar) I am not getting the iPod nano recognized. I choose the iPod option and I have my iPod (2 different cables) plugged in to the USB slot in the center console (under the arm rest) but nothing happens. There is no music. I see nothing, really. The iPod is turned on and I can press play. I haven't tried it with another iPod (as the only other one I have has gone the way of the the dodo). Has this been seen before? I mean, the USB works as I am playing music from a USB through it. I'm just concerned now as I was looking at an Apple Car Play box that goes behind the dash and there is no Aux, so it would have to go through the USB and you choose it by choosing the ipod function. But the ipod function doesn't give me anything :/
EDIT: Nope, sorted it. It actually was the cable. Oddly (or maybe not so oddly), the two newer cables I used were from newer (very much newer) Ipads. The lightning connections just seem that little bit thinner or maybe they're different, but while they do charge the ipod nano nano (7th gen), they don't appear to communicate. I found an older cable that took a little more effort to push in (just slightly, but you can notice it) and voila, it worked!
