UPDATE - The garage re-did the timing job and claimed they set it back to the previous 1 tooth out marks, I checked crank correlation with VDASH after the redid it + the crank and cam on this engine is keyed so you can't have it wrong like that, and it is now perfectly timed so this is likely a made up story and they've actually used timing tools this time.

As for why the error happens, If timing is wrong, valve events occur at incorrect crank positions, reducing volumetric efficiency. The engine can’t draw in enough air for the commanded fuel, so it either runs lean or the ECU cuts fuel to protect the engine.

When I bought my V40 D4162T it had this error and something to do with turbo actuator, when I looked at the airbox someone had blocked the vacuum hose, after this was reconnected both errors went and the car drove fine with full power.

Just the P00BC would come back maybe every month or so if I drove hard, then it went away after I changed the MAF sensor and has been gone for 4 months until I've had my timing belt done.

They claimed the previous belt was a tooth out, and they've installed the new one correct now, but the car is low on power, I test drove it and it is really slow, like slower than the time it had the fault and I could clear it to get power back, now I can't do that.

I've had the cover off the cam and rotated to the marking, and checked the crank and it looks like they both line up so I think the belt is fine? I cannot check the injector timing pulley as it's behind covers but I'm not sure that would cause this issue.

All I can think of if that I've always had a leak at this O ring, and now the timing is "Correct?" that the ECU now complains about the air? Does this sound plausible or have they also messed up my timing job.
