Does anyone know if the car comes with a medical kit and or fire extinguisher? I tried to locate them but all I found was a mobility kit for the tires. Just checking before I go on and buy them in case they are located somewhere in the car I haven't checked...

A quick search through the pdf manual reveals that an optional first aid kit would be located in the left hand side of the cargo area (p319).
On the plus side I have found the pen holder! Its just inside the lip of the glove box.

I was a little surprised, given Volvos emphasis on safety, that the first aid kit didn't come as standard. But good car spares stores such as Halfords sell good kits at reasonable prices.

So, I will be getting a medical kit Do you know if it's ok to store it on the left or right area of the cargo area where there are some openings (you can remove a cover from each side)?

For the fire extinguisher I am trying to work out a solution that will keep it stable. I have to attach it somewhere to be safe...

Make your own kit up, most retail kits contain loads of stuff you will never use and not enough of what you will need if it all goes wrong.
