Nice blog post!
For the first time, I tried to sit on the back seat yesterday, and you're quite right, there is a great visibility because of the backseats being moved closer to each other.

I haven't really noticed the glovebox, but I do like the illuminated gear leaver, I would prefer that to cold aluminium. Otherwise I agree, I too have a small family of 3, and this car suits us perfectly, in and out of town!

Thanks guys!

Jens-Peter, nice to know you also share my opinion that the car is suitable for a small family, based on your experience.

When it comes to the gear knob, I actually don't mind the cold feeling of an aluminium one. It could also be mostly covered with leather, with aluminium details only, to minimise this feeling. I would prefer that to the plasticky feeling of the one in the V40. I think it would also look better.

My Peugeot 406 had a leather gear knob, but the bulb on top had a plastic disc, thus I suppose this is the reason the one in my V40 made no impression (good or bad) to me. Of course leather offers a special feeling, if I have to judge from the steering wheel, and I would prefer that. Anyway, illumination is something new and unique.
Hand glove compartment? Yes, there is something "cheap" and extralight there, it reminds me of an after market cover I had installed on my Fiat Tipo !
