What it needs is some enterprising individual or business to pursue this and put into production, as ther haven't been any relevant updates to the thread since 2015.

More concerning is that the electronic oil gauge, although having the appearance of a calibrated indication, does not accurately follow the level in the sump, only a general OK, over or under-filled. I might also be wrong, but as I understand it the indication on the electronic gauge is reset through VIDA following an oil change, and bears no relation to the actual oil level at that time, only to having been reset through software, although I believe the actual oil level can be read by the technician through VIDA separately.
