Has anybody had their petrol engined V40 remapped or tuned? Any advice, thoughts or experience on this worth sharing?

Also looking to have mine done in a couple of months
I think about it every now and again. Ideally I'd like a remap and a slightly more throaty exhaust.
I have a Heico ECU and Exhaust on my T3 and I am very very happy with it. It was last dyno'd at 205 HP and 326NM but I have had the map changed a bit since then. The Heico chief tech estimated that it should be somewhere around 220 HP and 340NM now but we have not tested it yet.

The Remap is the same for T2 /T4 aswell and the Heico Sportiv ECU is warranty approved by volvo in Germany, so no risks being taken either.

That ^ looks and sounds impressive. I wish we got Heico here. Only able to get Polestar (which isn't bad)
That sounds awesome, I have the T2 and as you say the upgrades and remaps seem to be the same for the t2 -t4 as it's the same engine in various states of tune. I'm disappointed that they can't be remapped using the bsr or rica handheld devices via the obd however - I thought I could just buy something from them online, something to do with the ecu being protected? Are there any other options I wonder...?
I considered the Rica upgrade using the handheld. Anyone done it? What's the score with the Rica and the Volvo warranty?

yep and polestar only on a few cars not all .but as my car is stock I don't need it.lol
I would go for the rica isoftloader - this can be ordered direct from them but I'm unsure about this ecu pin protection I keep reading about?

Would you get Polestar on your T5? As in although you don't *need* it would you consider getting it? Also being on the highveld it might be beneficial?

Assuming that you declared any modification to your insurance company, it would probably result in your insurance premium being increased.
I don't know it works in the UK but my insurance premium didn't go up one cent. In Germany most insurance companys have a price limit that you can spend for mods that are included in your insurance (i.e. 5000€ in my contract).

I've written to Polestar to ask them about the V40 T5 (proper 265bhp version), they say they have no plans to do any upgrades for it.

I guess the Heico upgrade is the only option, but I really don't want to mess with my warranty.
