Anybody had the same problem and managed to fix this?
How do I remove the felt backing from the rear of the seat in order to investigate what's wrong with the seat/headrest mechanism?

Are you 100% certain the rear seat has locked into position? IIRC the headrest won't lock into position if the seat is not locked into place.

Yep 110% certain. I've triple checked this myself. The red warning lock indicator is not raised, and the seat definitely feels like it is locked into place.
