My 2014 v40cc is similar- I think it’s just surface rust as I know of a 2010 v70 that has a little bit the same too.

I spoke to a smart repair person and they can clean and paint them, but the cost was a couple of hundred :(

DO NOT PUT WD40 ANYWHERE NEAR THEM!!!!!!

Any of that lubricant that oversprays onto the discs will reduce braking performance, and if it contaminates the pads will ruin them.

It is only cosmetic rust, if it really bothers you buy a tin of calliper paint. Remove the wheel, wire brush the loose rust off, and then brush paint with the calliper paint.

There are some good options here https://www.eurocarparts.com/caliper-paint

Thank you for the warning @Tony1 really appreciate that.
This is why I wanted first to ask, before doing something.

Regards.

That rusting is typical of the Hand Car Washes that use a very abrasive chemical when they pre-treat the wheels.

For me, it's my discs that go rusty. If its raining it only takes a few hours for it to start to appear once the car has stopped.

The application of automotive anti-corrosion paint has its own nuances. The dye in the jar is used according to one technology, and the aerosol is used according to another. However, as a rule, neither the first nor the second method implies special training. My friend from a car service station on https://www.rustbullet.com/automotive-applications/ buys paint from corrosion and this paint works well. The paint is applied immediately after the problem is detected.
