I have a Volvo V40 (2016) D2 which I have just updated the satnav on. Can anyone explain why both before and after the update the satnav didn't/doesnt recognise some UK postcodes?. My home postcode is one of these and that postcode has been in existrance for the last 40 years at least! I find that approx 10-20% of the postcodes I enter are not recognised as 'existing' and cannot be selected

Make sure you are using the correct format. The start of a postcode is in the format A#, A##, AA#, AA##, A#A or AA#A (where A is a letter and # is a number) there is always a space, then a number and two letters. If you aren't using that format it won't be recognised.

Make sure you aren't getting 0 and O mixed up (my MIL insists the 0 in her postcode is an o)

I don't think I ever remember not being able to navigate to a postcode in the V40.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I am on my way to Glasgow (and other places) tomorrow so will need to set several postcodes f IOnce again thanks for your quick replyor the round journey. I will let you know how I get on.

I lived in Glasgow for years (and all the time I owned a V40) whilst I lived there it didn't fail to find a postcode - hopefully you will be OK.
