Hi all,
I am considering to install a tow bar. There are 2 options available: 1) removable 2) fixed. I like the fixed option as it is significantly cheaper and it offers some additional protection.

Now I read on some tow bar manufacturer website that the fixed option potentially causes the parking sensors to constantly beep. Is this something anyone has experienced before?

Do you think I can install the fixed option without issues?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

Many vehicles have the option to program out the two inner rear parking sensors when a towbar is fitted, and also to disable the sensors when the towing electrics are connected, usually through diagnostic software. Ask your Volvo dealer if that is an option for the V40, assuming the sensors are Volvo original equipment.

I've removable towbar and there is no issues when it's on, no constant beep. However this won't provide you any protection, what you can achieve is a mior contact with another car will cause damage to the other
