Hello

Im going to fit a front and rear Dash Cam to my 2016 v40, ive read the other posts and have bought the green connectors for using the Dim Dip Mirror circuit, i may not go this route.

it appears that the safest way to power the rear is from a switched circuit in the underseat fuse box, im happy to move the seat and get inside the box but does anyone know the connections / terminals i need to insert into the box, i would like to be prepared rather than take it apart twice, that said has anyone used specific fuse locations for this task?

Also, those who have used the Mirror circuit, what have you done with the transformer box to reduce from 12v to 5v? inside the mirror cover or somewhere else?

Thanks

Pete

Hi Pete,

I use the the under seat fusebox for my cams. I've found the the heated seat fuses work as desired, as in, they power down when the car goes off after a few seconds. I've just used a standard fuse adapter like you get with the nexbase hard wire kit and not had a problem.

OK Thanks

I hoped to avoid those, but that may be easier than taking the fuse box apart

By far easier to use them, and of course easy to remove too! There's also a convenient nut just at the fron you can losen off to fit the ground wires under too.

Guys, can you post a pic of what the part is looking like? Also about the rear view green connector, where did you order it?

Here’s a piggyback fuse holder, similar to what’s supplied with a nextbase hardwire kit.

What fuse can be used that's always live?

Dash camera comes with low voltage cut out so it wont harm the battery, and records when your parked up for a while hopefully

I've not got a 12v plug in the boot so I assume that fuse(17) under the seat for it won't be active?
