OK, we're stuck - how do you set the track order for MP3 albums/folders?

We've used MP3/WMA files for years both in the home and in our cars, and all files are tagged correctly for track order, yet the V40 seems to ignore this. We tried changing the file names to include the track number, but it made no difference.

Are we missing something obvious?

For reference, our dealer has not been able to suss this out either so they have logged a report with Volvo. We'll see if it can be sorted

I guess V40 reads music files in the physical order.
So software that can sort the physical order of files for FAT file system might work.
Search for "sort fat mp3"

Seems to be the only device ourselves and anyone in the Volvo dealer owned that plays via FAT order, that's a touch antiquated given the likes of file tags etc.

Going to have a play with sorting the files as above, though Volvo should really sort things so you don't need to - as my wife put it, it's the only fault with a perfect car!

Sorting the FAT table worked great...shouldn't have to do it, all other track tags are read OK, but hey ho, maybe Volvo will get it fixed soon
