Volvo V40: How economical & reliable?
Hi, looking at buying a used V40 (nothing older than 2012). Can anyone advise average MPG particularly on longer/motorway journeys? Also how reliable have you found them? (Petrol or diesel).

my choice would have been the Polestar 2, or C40 depending on reliability in a couple of years... I'm not ready for the "suv" thing. The other consideration is a large wound to heal, namely the rather poor aftersales especially from Volvo UK. That alone has already switched my Wife out of a Volvo, the in-laws and a neighbour too. And a fella at work who craved an S60 has bought an XFMy next V40 will be the XC40 Recharge.....all electric.... unlimited free recharge from the nuclear subs we are buying from UK/US. 🤩
My car is a late 2015 T3 automatic, 75,000 klms. I've owned it for nearly four years and suburban driving consumes around 9 litres per 100 klms. The only fault during that time was something to do with the "flaps on the climate control unit" which the local Volvo main dealer in Athens fixed in ten minutes without charge!
