Hey Guys,

I have spoken to a few re-mapping places today and they are all unsure if they can do it due to the location/type of ECU in the 2018+ models.

Can someone please provide information on if it can be easily re-mapped and where is the location of the ECU?

My car:
Early 2019 Volvo V40 T2 R-Design Petrol (manual)

Thanks in advance :)

A reply from one of the remapping providers. Surely it is able to be remapped? 馃

Have a look at this manual from BSR: https://www.bsr-tuning.be/assets/pdf/VCL_Manual_WEBB_eng_1.0.pdf
It shows you where the ECU is located.
I also read somewhere that there was a change in the ECU between 2018 and 2019. Newer types can't be decoded yet.
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I think that's what they think I guess, the Volvo model I have is the the newer non decodable type?

If that's the case, can't you swap out the ECU with an older easier to work with device?

Swapping ECU's is almost impossible as all other components need to be reconnected with VIDA. Don't know if all the 2019 components are compatible with older ECU's. I guess this is very difficult and will cost you a lot.
