Turns out as the collecting person say, it may go to auction, but the really good examples, would end up back at the dealers!
Here's mine that was collected in early March!

So this is their 2nd life after they leave their first leased owners :).

theres thousands of cars parked up at Rockingham, on the old race track that are mostly end of lease, and i've never seen a V40 this shape called an estate by a dealer 😂

I just had look and now saw the 'estate' part. Maybe as the V40 is last of its kind all current Volvo are either SUV, Estate or Saloon. No more hatchback. Likewise under the specifications apparently this V40 has 'dynamic chassis control' and a 'warning triangle. '
I didn't think I had either, or maybe I never really noticed.

Volvo themselves call it an estate.

If you go on the Volvo accessories webpage and look for a V40, it comes under the estate tab

I always thought the letters represented;
V = Vagn (Wagon) (similar to estate)
S = Salong or Salongsvagn (Saloon)
C = Cabriolet or Coupe
XC = X-Country

Though they have become more muddled with time, and the upcoming C40 looks nothing like a Coupe or a Cabriolet.
