On the windscreen I have the two main sensors on the left, on the right is a very small one - does anyone know what this is for?

Cover the sensors up one at a time and see what messages you get.

I'd say there are for rain and interior light brightness.

Thanks for replies. Had the windscreen replaced due to a crack and the small sensor was blocked out. My wife said that our headlights were on when I picked her up from work so that solved it - light sensor for the headlights.

New windscreen with light sensor window due to be fitted Wednesday hopefully!

I've got a crack in mine (btm left). Getting it replaced on wed this week. They said they had to order it straight from volvo and it will be the second one they've done. He said they come blacked out in this area and he will have to scrape it away. (National windscreens). He also said they are 4 times the price of a normal screen. With all the things in windscreens nowadays, I expect the excesses will rise.
