Just to update as I said I would. Unfortunately my V40 purchase fell through. I'd gone so far as actually buying the unit and was planning to install but it never happened. Very interested to hear positive experiences of people who've put one in. If I do end up getting a V40 I'll definitely be putting one of these in.

Just installed one of these today in my 2014 V40 - aside from a few of the gaps behind the centre console being very hard to get my hands into to run cables, it all went smoothly! Using the USB-AUX converted from the Kremersino Store that tricks Sensus into thinking the box is an iPod, which seems to work well and retains the original sound quality (I have the High Performance Audio). The only issue I've noticed so far is that the map seems to stay stuck in dark/light mode depending on if the headlights were on when starting the car or not, and doesn't switch when driving into a tunnel etc - this could be an Android Auto issue though, not sure yet.

Installed Carplay solution as well into my V40 Cross Country 2014 (2015 MY) with High Performance music. Everything is good except random freezes and the fact that it doesn't show front parking radar, only beeps.

Also after several thoughts where to put the box, I've put it to the cold glove box. Working good!

And here are some photos of the current state of Carplay system.

The other interesting thing - if you don't have AUX like me (because High Performance has usb sound only) you have to buy special usb to aux adapter from the same store, connect it into usb and to the Carplay box and select iPod in the original car interface (not in carplay).

I'm still in contact with the seller about front parking radar indication and will add details as soon as I've got answers)

How did you route the aux to usb cable and where did you put the box?

I installed the Kremersino unit in my MY15 T5 about 2.5 months ago. I agree with the real_nb in that it’s about as good as you could hope for with an after market ad on. I use an iPhone, CarPlay connects wirelessly and it almost always connects automatically. On the occasional time it doesn’t connect a simple press on the exit button for 5 seconds gets it going. This is also how you switch between the two systems. The Sensus system still works as normal in the background. You need to switch back to see aircon temp settings, heated seat settings etc. You can adjust these things without switching but you need to remember where it’s set. I didn’t get the touch screen option. Navigating with the buttons works ok but a touch screen would be better. Sound quality is excellent and having modern navigation and being able to use messages etc is great. Only real issue I have is the screen is always in night mode when the lights are on auto as described in previous post. I’m sure it’s because the parking lamps are always on when in auto. I just switch the lights on manually. The Waze app is sometimes frozen when turned on but this also happens in our other car with factory CarPlay. Overall my experience has been positive. If the software can be improved to show some of the temperature settings etc it would be a bonus.

In the process of working through a fairly buggy install on my newly acquired 2016 V40. In my experience so far the installation definitely isn’t ‘super easy’ if for no reason other than the installation instructions you get by email are very sketchy, and vague. You are instructed to remove a bunch of dash screws you don’t need to remove and they fail to mention the ones you actually do. No mention of how to deal with the gear stick either (had to google/YouTube that part). My V40 doesn’t have an aux..so had to get the extra cable. Quite where you’re supposed to locate the box is not clear..absolutely no guidance on this and the cables are seemingly too short to comfortably reach the USB port, which is not great considering this ‘extra’ costs £50. Several unexplained and unexpected additional ports which aren’t mentioned in the installation diagram just confuse things further. This unit is evidently installed in BMWs and Audis too and I get the impression the Volvo install is not of particular interest to the supplier. Email help is good but now I find I’ve lost audio probably because the USB cable is too short and is being stretched. I had great hopes for this but it’s turning into a bit of a PITA. If you are a novice..be warned. If you don’t have aux this isn’t as easy as it might sound..I don’t think they designed the bundled aux cables with a V40 dimensions in mind

Hello folks. Have now also installed this Kremersino Carplay in the V40 CC. Since I don't have an aux either, I ordered this USB adapter to plug into the center console. But I didn't want to run the cable under the entire center console and now use an adapter that plugs directly into the radio body and thus has a USB socket directly behind the radio. And there I was able to connect the USB adapter from Kremersino. Of course, the USB port in the center console is then out of order. Here's the part from Amazon that's actually for the Honda, but fits and works on the Volvo too.

Unfortunately I can't post the link as I'm new here. Enter the following at Amazon "usb cable adapter keple flash drive". Then you should see a cable with a gray connector that fits right into the Volvo radio. At the other end is a USB socket.

Little addition:
Since the original gray plug was removed from the main radio unit, the USB port under the center armrest no longer works. For this I found an adapter that connects the (pulled out) gray original plug to the USB output of the Carplay module. This means that the USB port under the center armrest works again, for example to establish a Carplay connection via a mobile phone cable or for USB sticks.
If you google "USB aux adapter honda" you will find this adapter with female and male connection (example: website caraudio24.de)
I also sketched it here, how I connected everything.
I put the Carplay module and also the Aux USB module from kremersino in the glove compartment.

And now some general experiences with the Carplay system:
So far it works perfectly. I think it's better to put the module in the glove compartment because it cools better there. It will probably get too warm under the footwell trim.
I made the settings so that Carplay only works with a cable (connection via the original USB socket under the center armrest). I don't like this wireless connection because the cell phone battery runs out quickly. And the mobile phone is charged at the same time via a cable connection.
If you are in Carplay mode, the climate setting is not displayed. I think that's a shame because you always have to switch to the other Volvo mode to see the temperature.
The light/dark mode of the display does not change when the headlights are switched on. For me, the Carplay display is always bright. It's a bit annoying at night. But otherwise I'm satisfied.
Sometimes I think if the part from realmediashop would have been better because it has a larger display and the touchscreen and the climate display work better. But you would have to pay twice as much for that.

Hi
This page claims they have a unit with climate control and oem rear camera, the problem is that it also claims to retain "touch screen" feature (?)
