Thankyou very much. Thats your car a take it, how do you find it espically at night. I have never owned a car with tints, so have no experience with what it does to the ease of parking etc.

 

Didnt bother me until my wife bought a new vw polo which came with privay glass. And it looks really good.

 

Don't really notice any issues parking or in general. It lets good light in weirdly even at night. I've got auto dimming rear view which is great and would recommend

 

I spec'd my car with an auto dimming mirror but it didnt come with one and cant be retro fitted. Bit of a sore subject. So they gave me the rdesign stuling package fitted for free.

 

You may have checked the forums photo gallery? There seems to be quite a few cars with tints. Mine are "medium" ones. I was told that the mildest option wont differ much from the original so I did not consider that. I ended up to mid version as it gives privacy pretty well. I think it' s matter of taste whether to take mid of strong. For light color like mine, contrast felt better with mediums. Whereas looking the (smashing) rebel blue, i might have ended up to strong tints with it..

 

When i have considered tints in the past i never really thought to go really dark. As you cant tint the fronts i didnt want it to stand out massively different. I never even thought to check the gallery. Mid tint sounds about right to me.

 

I would think tints will compliment the rebel blue colour very well. All personal choice I guess.

 

I have had privacy glass in my last 3 cars, BMW, Audi and one V40. All have been sporty/high spec so with black leather and head lining etc and not had an issue with passengers feeling closterphobic.

If you are retro fitting do not be tempted to go too dark 25% tint (let's 75% of light through) this added to the standard tint will be ample

Here is the V40, sorry it is not blue, but the better, faster red ;0)

Nb you will see the yellow indicator bulbs, I quickly changed these for silver ones, it is a must in my opinion :0)

Just the back looks weird for me. I was last year Oct in the UAE, the cars there are so dark, you can hardly see outside, hehe, okay, during the day it is okay, night time not. But then again, with that heat there, you have to have your car tinted.

 

Hi here are some pic on a blue one. Tint is 20%. Not too dark in my opinion. I have the blond interior.

 

 

 

I was thinking of getting bout 35% so not really dark.

 

I prefer that cars which are alongside, or behind, or in front haven't got privacy glass. It makes it more difficult to see other vehicles through the windows of the one which has privacy glass. In that respect, privacy glass can be hazardous for other drivers. :dodgy:

 

Well cars dropped off, went for 30% tints which is the same as the oem % looking forward to getting it back

No offence after seeing some of the photographic attempts I no longer feel ashamed of mine, so here it is.

Ice White with panoramic roof, I thought the tints complemented the White on black look and the roof.

I can never work out how to put a full size picture up rather than a thumbnail? Might be because I'm on an iPad. Arb loving the white. In fact I've not seen a colour I don't like yet on an r-design. I chose grey to hide the dirt but with the shape of the car the rear still gets proper filthy so it back fired. Like my old mk2 golf! Not sure what colour I'd choose if I could change. Either way it would def have tints.
